If You Passed Your Baton…TAKE IT BACK
If You Passed Your Baton Seminar is a powerful one-day equipping seminar for seniors and soon-to-be-seniors, or what A Chosen Generation calls the “Encore Generation.” This InterGenerational equipping seminar is designed to encourage and equip the “Encore Generation” to realize their value and take their ministry roles within their church and community. The seminar often re-ignites the ministry passions of many of the older family members of the church and encourages them to continue to “fight the good fight and finish the race set before them.
What is the need for a “Baton” Seminar?
The greatest generation is often untapped and under-utilized in the ministry of the local church.
Church leaders are often unsure how to engage the encore generation in the church’s ministry.
Of the total population of the United States, approximately 30% are “seniors.”
Many of the seniors feel they have been told directly or indirectly to “Pass the Baton” and get off the track.
Often, younger leaders are not sure how to engage or utilize the older generations in their church.
Who should attend:
- Seniors or soon-to-be Seniors
- Pastors and Staff
- Key volunteers and Ministry Leaders
Length of Seminar:
- One day, including lunch
- 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
Topics include:
- Who Stole My Church?
How do Seniors feel about their church? Let’s face the “elephant in the room.” How we do church, including the music, has changed and will continue to change. A changing church does not mean Seniors do not have a place or purpose to have a “Kingdom” Impact. Many “Seniors” have bought into a lie and believe it is time to “Pass The Baton.”
- It is Time For An Encore
Great performers are ready for their encore, and they know what to do. They also know that their encore is their best and what others will remember about them.
- Reconciling with Your Past and Present
Forgiveness and reconciling… If we are not reconciled with our past and the critical relationships in our lives, our ability to make a difference for God will be significantly limited. Forgiveness and reconciliation should not be an “IF” but perhaps a “When and How.”
- If my Phone is so Smart – Why do I feel so Dumb?
Technology: friend or foe? We live in a technological world, but being older does not mean we cannot learn to use modern technology effectively.
I Just Can’t Drive at Night
We aren’t 40, but we have a lot to offer to the Kingdom. Sometimes, our perceived limitations can become our greatest assets for ministry. When we realize we are better equipped and prepared for ministry than ever, we can begin having the greatest ministry of our lives.
Working lunch with Assignments
Lunch assignments include completing a Personality test and a Spiritual Gifts test. Many seniors have been led to believe that when they became seniors, they lost their personality, and their Spiritual Gifts expired.
- Find your “Jason Stevens” and Change the World
Call it coaching, mentoring, or any other relational title you prefer, but every generation lives healthier when connected to the other generations. Younger generations are begging for older men and women who will invest in and believe in them. We have the tools that are needed.
- For Generations Yet to be Born
Legend or Legacy is the question. Are you living for your legend or God’s Legacy? The answer to this question will determine your actual priorities and how you decide to live the most important years of your life.
- Finishing Strong
You cannot finish a race in which you quit before the finish line. Great Runners do not run “to the finish line.” They run “through the finish line.”
- Where Do We Go From Here?
What is your first “Next Step?” or What is your next “First Step?”
